In a week where all design professionals and enthusiasts are looking at only one city, it was a great opportunity and responsibility to have my little corner at Salone Satellite after being selected by the organization. Like before I wanted my space to be visually attractive and all the concepts and stories behind the pieces easily understandable. In my stand I was presenting the Kaleidoscope Table, The Zoo Collection, Pico Lamp, and the novelties Ode to a Pig, Not for Sale sign, Buuh Poufs, and the Modern Gargoyle in the award area.

We live in a time where everything is reason to share with your friends on social media. And that's an opportunity to get your work spread around. So it was always my intention to at least have one strong frame that would be highly photograped and shared. I can say that most people that visited my stand took the photo that I wanted them to take. If they shared it or not that I'll never know, but I've found at least some of them on instagram.

Another thing that I'm aware of is that I'm a small fish against big whales of the market. And I try to use that in my advantage. I knew first hand that the Satellite was not a sales point, but much more a networking space. So I tried to make everything as personal as possible. My press kits had a handrawing next to a "fortune cookie" quote so all the professionals that received this pen would feel that it was me giving them this material and not a big enterprise that gives the same thing to everyone in a very impersonal way. Also just as I did in London during the Tent London, I tried to use the streets in my advantage. Trying to capture the attention of design lovers with big visual stickers with all the information on where to find me.

Clown from Modern Gargoyles collection was the first of its kind and it was presented at the Salone Satellite award area. It was hard for me not to have it on my stand, but it was actually great to see visitors come find me after seeing it there and wanting to know the author and where they could aquire it.

Every event of this kind has its ups and downs, but I'm lucky enough to say that most of it was ups. I'm sure in the future I will be back at Milan with my studio, I just have to decide, how, where and when. Looking forward for this week again!
