This is a brand with a funny name? Larau Larita, is the result of some great opportunities but also some mishaps that took us here. The journey started back in 2017, by invitation of the Architecture and Design Studio, Artmoon, that gave us the challenge to create a brand combining Portuguese DNA with contemporary objects. We wanted the name to work not as a descriptive word, but rather an emotional one, so we started with sounds, sayings, but mainly focusing on an onomatopoeia that would sound Portuguese and also fun and fresh. Larau Larita just sounds like a childish word that could be said be a three year old trying to sing something. But the idea was exactly that, something easy to say by everyone and with no descriptive meaning at all, just an emotion, or a feeling.
The form of the final logo comes from a Portuguese popular music “É uma casa Portuguesa concerteza” / “It's a Portuguese house for sure" so we wanted the logo the represent a little house with a fun twist to it with its edges cut like a diamond representing a trimmed version of a Portuguese home made for the contemporary needs.
